Addepar supports clients worldwide with offices in New York City, Salt Lake City, London, Edinburgh, Pune, Dubai, Geneva, Singapore and São Paulo.&nbsp;</p></div><h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>The Role</strong></span></h4> <p>We are looking for a Staff Backend Software Engineer in Edinburgh to join the Product Platform team, which builds foundational components and cross-functional capabilities for our ecosystem.</p> <p>In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of critical API services powering our financial data ecosystem while modernizing our architecture to fuel European expansion.</p> <p>Key responsibilities and strategic impact include:</p> <ul> <li>Scaling platform capabilities across diverse clients, regions, and geographies.</li> <li>Building resilient, multi-region solutions that boost system performance and elevate user experience.</li> <li>Ensuring architecture complies with European and international financial regulatory standards.</li> <li>Providing key technical leadership to transform how global clients connect with and leverage financial data.</li> </ul> <p>Applicants must have, and maintain, the right to work in the United Kingdom from the first day of employment. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this role.</p> <h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></span></h4> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and implement robust API services to support our rapidly growing European customer base.</li> <li>Lead architecture designs and product roadmap creation.</li> <li>Research and drive the adoption of new technologies and best practices to drive innovation.</li> <li>Analyse and dive deep into a complex and powerful ecosystem, understanding requirements, determining optimal approaches and driving change.</li> <li>Mentor, coach, and empower other engineers, contributing to an inclusive and high-performing team culture.</li> <li>Amplify your technical ability by empowering your peers and contributing to code reviews and technical designs.</li> <li>Debug and troubleshoot issues across the entire application stack.</li> <li>Collaborate effectively with other engineers, product managers and stakeholders, in line with our company values outlined below.</li> <li>Be part of a high-performing, cross-functional team.</li> </ul> <h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Who You Are</strong></span></h4> <ul> <li>You have extensive experience in software development, including building backend services in a professional environment.</li> <li>You have a deep and expert knowledge of software design patterns, API design, and the software development lifecycle.</li> <li>Proven ability to influence technical direction and make significant contributions to the architecture of complex, distributed systems.</li> <li>Understanding of REST, service-based architecture, and distributed systems.</li> <li>A rapid learner with robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.</li> <li>A curious person, who enjoys digging deep into requirements and handling complexity.</li> <li>You have a track record of amplifying your impact by mentoring other engineers and collaborating effectively within a team of senior peers.</li> <li>Experience building services with Java, SQL and AWS.</
