This is a hybrid role. In this role, you’ll help us strengthen our general ledger and accounting operations functions while driving alignment with global financial processes.</p><p></p><p>Get to know our <a target="_blank" class="ng-star-inserted" href="https://careers.deliveroo.co.uk/the-finance-team/">Finance</a> team — what drives us, how we work, and what you can expect.</p><p></p><p><strong>What You’ll Be Doing</strong></p><p>You’ll be joining the Accounting sub-team, reporting to the International Controller. It’s an exciting time to join our rapidly growing team, where you will manage day-to-day general ledger operations, ensure robust internal controls, and partner with cross-functional leaders to keep pace within one of the fastest-growing marketplace companies.</p><p></p><p>Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:</p><p></p><ul><li><p>Manage day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, SOX controls, and external audits.</p><p></p></li><li><p>Integrate general ledger accounting operations to drive alignment with global processes across the organisation.</p><p></p></li><li><p>Share ownership of the full-cycle general ledger financial close process, reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure complete and accurate financials.</p><p></p></li><li><p>Drive process improvement and automation initiatives to streamline accounting operations and refine monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles.</p><p></p></li><li><p>Act as a key decision-maker in the continuous development of accounting policies, standard operating procedures, and monthly variance analysis in partnership with FP&amp;A and Financial Reporting.</p><p></p></li></ul><p><strong>What You’ll Need to Thrive</strong></p><p></p><p><strong>Essential:</strong></p><p></p><ul><li><p>Extensive public company accounting experience within a relevant industry, alongside proven experience managing and developing staff.</p><p></p></li><li><p>Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, PCAOB standards, and SOX internal controls.</p><p></p></li><li><p>Proven track record of managing full-cycle financial close processes and maintaining robust accounting operations.</p><p></p></li><li><p>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, ACA/ACCACPA qualification, or equivalent professional experience.</p><p></p></li></ul><p><strong>Nice to Have:</strong></p><p></p><ul><li><p>Experience working with financial systems such as NetSuite, Coupa, and GSuite.</p><p></p></li></ul><p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p><p>At Deliveroo, you’ll do work that matters, solving real-world problems in a three-sided marketplace that’s constantly evolving.</p><p>We’re food lovers, problem solvers, community builders and more, brought together by a shared drive to make things better.
