You’ll be a subject matter expert across key financial crime controls, taking ownership of complex problems and helping us continuously improve how our controls operate across both Monzo Bank Limited (MBL) and Monzo Bank Europe (MBEU).</p> <p>This is a role with plenty of ownership and cross-functional exposure. You’ll work closely with teams across Financial Crime, Operations, Product and Engineering, using data and your financial crime expertise to identify risks, strengthen controls and shape longer-term improvements.<br><br></p> <p><strong>🔑 You’ll play a key role by...</strong></p> <ul> <li>Owning our global risk controls for <strong>Exit &amp; Defunds, Law Enforcement and Acceptable Use Standard</strong>, with end-to-end oversight of BAU performance across MBL and MBEU.</li> <li>Developing and improving control documentation and standards, balancing financial crime risk, operational efficiency and customer experience.</li> <li>Using data and trend analysis to monitor control effectiveness, identify emerging threats and spot opportunities to strengthen our controls.</li> <li>Making sure we have appropriate financial crime control coverage as Monzo launches new products and expands into new areas.</li> <li>Identifying and prioritising material risks, escalating these clearly to leadership alongside practical, evidence-based recommendations.</li> <li>Owning the investigation and remediation of incidents within your control areas and partnering with other Control Owners to resolve high-impact issues.</li> <li>Acting as a domain expert for your areas, providing technical guidance, sharing knowledge and helping build capability across the wider Financial Crime Collective.</li> <li>Leading cross-functional initiatives across Product, Operations and Engineering, building shared understanding and influencing teams towards compliant and customer-focused solutions.</li> <li>Taking on <strong>Nominated Approver</strong> and <strong>Financial Crime Floater</strong> responsibilities.</li> </ul> <p><strong>🤩 We’d love to hear from you if…</strong></p> <ul> <li>You h
