<p><strong>The Position</strong></p> <p><strong>Our roster has an opening with your name on it</strong></p> <p><br>We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our Trust &amp; Safety team within the CPE Platform vertical,&nbsp;working across Core Products and Experiences. In this role, you’ll contribute to a multidisciplinary team&nbsp;building reliable, engaging products for millions of players. You’ll bring some hands-on engineering&nbsp;experience, a practical approach to solving problems, and a willingness to learn from and support others. You’ll&nbsp;help deliver well-structured software, take part in technical discussions, and contribute to documentation,&nbsp;collaboration, and continuous improvement across the team.&nbsp;</p> <p>We are a growth company so there are plenty of opportunities for you to learn and grow with us, plus we have remote-first working, you'll work from our office in Edinburgh two days a week. We're committed to making sure everyone who works here can maintain a healthy work/life balance.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Everyone on our team has a part to play</strong></p> <ul> <li>You'll work as part of our Trust &amp; Safety team, helping build and improve Responsible Gaming tools.</li> <li>You'll build and maintain React-based Responsible Gaming tools</li> <li>You'll write clear, maintainable backend code using Java, building APIs and services that process high-volumes of signals, events, and enforcement actions</li> <li>You'll help build and improve APIs, services, and database-backed functionality that can handle high&nbsp;volumes of traffic reliably and at scale</li> <li>You'll contribute to well-scoped features, fixes, and improvements across the full stack with support&nbsp;from more experienced engineers</li> <li>You'll test your changes carefully and look for simple ways to make our services more reliable,&nbsp;observable, and easier to support</li> <li>You'll take part in code reviews, design discussions, planning sessions, and team ceremonies — asking&nbsp;questions and sharing ideas</li> <li>You'll investigate bugs and support issues, working with the team to understand root causes and make&nbsp;practical improvements</li> <li>You'll learn about scaling systems, databases, caching, and cloud infrastructure through hands-on work&nbsp;with the team</li> <li>You'll keep documentation up to date so others can understand how our services and tools work and&nbsp;how to support them</li> <li>You'll collaborate closely with engineers, product partners, operations, and compliance stakeholders to&nbsp;deliver changes that improve the safety and integrity of our platform</li> <li>You'll bring curiosity, humility, and a willingness to learn, while growing your engineering judgement&nbsp;and technical confidence over time</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What we're looking for in our next teammate</strong></p> <ul> <li>Hands-on experience with React (or a similar component-based frontend framework) and an interest in&nbsp;building clean, functional tooling and user-facing interfaces</li> <li>An understanding of Java or a similar object-oriented language, and an interest in developing backend&nbsp;services and APIs</li> <li>Familiarity with databases and SQL, with an interest in learning more about data modelling,&nbsp;performance, and scaling</li> <li>Awareness of common data structures, algorithms, and software design principles</li> <li>An interest in platform integrity, trust &amp; safety, fraud detection, or compliance systems is a plus — but&nbsp;not required</li> <li>An interest in distributed systems, reliability, monitoring, and how high-traffic systems operate in&nbsp;production</li> <li>Familiarity with cloud technologies, containers, or CI/CD is helpful, but not required</li> <li>An understanding of testing basics and a willingness to write tests as part of everyday development</li> <li>Comfortable working in a team environ
